  1. What is Parklook?

    Parklook is a new mobile application which helps you to find or book street parking with ease & notify others when you’re about to leave a parking place.

    And it’s not only about doing something good or helping the community. We’ll pay you every time when another user takes that place from you. Amazing, right?

  1. Who operates the app?

    The app is operated by Parkflow UK Limited, a company incorporated in accordance with the laws of England and Wales with company number 11561580 and registered office at 4 More London Riverside, London, SE1 2AU.

  1. Why Parklook?

    We believe we can help cities flow better by offering an app that seamlessly connects drivers looking for parking spaces to drivers just leaving theirs. Through connecting drivers, we enhance the flow of street parking enabling cities to flow better and communities to thrive.

  1. What kind of problems we think our app will solve?

    Street parking contributes to congestion, pollution and countless hours of valuable time that is wasted looking for parking and blocking the streets. Our aim is to change that and make street parking a more seamless and stress-free experience.

  1. When & where the app will be available?

    The app is available for free downloads at Apple Store & Google Play and is currently promoted in Bristol area (UK).

  1. Is it another parking app?

    Not exactly. We don’t collect payments for your parking time (meter) or traffic tickets, nor do we offer you a short-term rent of a private garage as some other apps do. Payment for parking is not the main problem. Finding a street parking place definitely is! And this the issue we’re focused to solve.

  1. Is it only for street parking?

    At the moment - yes. Many service providers offer online solutions to book off-street parking, private garages, airport parking and other parking facilities. However, almost nothing is available for street parking and this the main problem we’re focused to solve.

  1. Who can use the app?

    You must be at least 17 years of age and a GB resident to register your account with our app. And obviously you must have a valid driving license to use a car.

    Parklook is for everywhere & everyone to encourage community-driven information sharing and make our cities flow smarter!

  1. Why would other drivers will share available street parking with you?

    Other drivers themselves will tell you when & where a parking spot you need becomes available. Why? Because we pay them! Check here.

Technical

  1. On what type of phone/operating system does the app work?

    We currently support IOS 11 and later & Android 4.4 and later.

  1. Can you use the app without Internet connection?

    No. Our app uses a data connection for its core functionality – so it requires either wireless or GPRS/3G/4G connection.

  1. Can you use our app whilst driving?

    We don’t encourage mobile phone use whilst driving as this is not only dangerous but also illegal. If the model and operating system of your mobile device so allows, you can activate our app and search for street parking by the voice command & voice output navigation features via Siri or Google Assistant. Make sure microphone is turned on for our app in the settings of your mobile device.

    If the model or operating system of your mobile device doesn’t support voice control or if it doesn’t function properly, never use your mobile device whilst driving. Your safety matters more!

  1. How to use the app with voice command?

    On Android: use a voice command “find parking” or alike while the app is running. On IOS: use Siri to activate the app & find street parking - just add a new predefined phrase for Siri from the app’s main menu.

Your account & privacy

  1. Is it complicated to sign up?

    No, just a few simple steps! Download our app to your smartphone and register your personal account by providing basic personal information.

    No paperwork is required at all. Everything you need will be available in the app which will easily guide you through the process. And you can always ask our customer support for any help.

  1. Is your personal data protected?

    Certainly! We take it very seriously as you do. Read our Privacy Policy here.

    We encrypt all of the data we collect & store and even go further by replacing the real identity of our users with unique identifiers. Everything is stored in the UK, adequately secured and used strictly in compliance will all applicable law.

    We are registered by the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) as a data controller with reference number ZA476582 and are subject to the GDPR and applicable UK data protection laws.

    We are not selling, and we will not sell, any data that we collect to any advertisers or other third parties!

  1. What information about you will disclose to other users?

    Rest assured that we’ll never share your private details with other users. Only when your parking offer or request for parking is accepted by another user (but not before), such user will be able to see the type & colour of your vehicle and 3 characters of its plates, to make spotting each other easy. Otherwise, it will be impossible to find the relevant vehicle on the street among many others (often similar) and our app will be of zero help.

  1. Why we ask for your mobile number during the registration process?

    We ask for your mobile phone number to make sure you can do in-app calls to other users when you have any difficulties with finding their vehicle at a street parking space and the other users can do the same.

    Rest assured that we’ll never disclose your mobile number to other users and will never show you another user’s number. All in-app calls are made via our internal call forwarding system which needs your real number only for the right connection and putting you through. We don’t, and will not, record any user-to-user voice calls.

  1. Why we ask to turn on location tracking whilst using our app?

    If you turn off location tracking, we cannot connect you with other users and ensure you have a successful parking exchange via our app. Moreover, we will not make a payout to you if we are unable to establish that your vehicle was actually parked within a specified location at a specified time. This puts you at a disadvantage if any dispute arises. To turn on location tracking, please go to the settings of your mobile device and allow location access for our app.

How to

  1. How to find street parking with our app?

    Simple & easy! Just open the app and tap Parking when you’re ready to park. The app will connect you with other users who are about to vacate their spot. And even direct you to exactly where they are.

    Or search the app’s interactive map to check & accept any available offers for parking already made by other users in various locations. All offers will appear in blue colour on the map. Tap the one which meets your requirements to check full info, such as location, type of parking & time when it will be available. And if you wish, confirm your acceptance by following simple instructions.

  1. How to notify others that you’re leaving a street parking spot?

    Just a few clicks to help the community! Tap Leaving & follow the instructions to let others know you have a spot available soon. And if confirmed, give up the spot to them. That’s it, easy & fast!

    You can also place your parking offer far in advance. Say, in the evening to make sure other users have enough time to book & take the spot in the morning when you depart. The more time you allow, the more chances they have! Your offers (including those awaiting acceptance by other users) will be marked in orange colour on the app’s interactive map to help you distinguish them from others.

    And it’s not only about doing something good or helping the community. We’ll pay you every time when another user takes a street parking place from you. Amazing, right?

  1. Can you check parking offers or requests made by others?

    Yes, and we encourage you to do so. You can always search the app’s interactive map to check & accept any available requests or offers for parking already made by other users in various locations. All requests will be marked in green and the offers will appear in blue colour.

    Tap the one which meets your requirements to check full information, such as location, time when the place will be available or when another user arrives. And if you wish, confirm your acceptance by following simple instructions in the app.

  1. Do you know which type of parking space you’re booking?

    Yes, when a user offers a street parking place to others, he/she will be asked to select a type of the parking place (e.g. pay & display, free of charge, for permit holders only, single yellow line etc.). Before accepting the offer, you can check all requirements to make your final choice.

  1. Do you know if your vehicle is going to fit into the space you’re booking?

    During the registration process, we will ask you to record the type of your vehicle, so that we match you only with the right-sized spaces.

  1. Do you have to wait for others?

    When you create a parking offer, you choose your preferred departure time yourself (5-10 minutes, 1-3 hours or another timeframe). If another user is late or cancels your booking, you are free to go away when your selected departure time comes.

    This means you don’t have to wait for anyone longer than you were planning initially. Your time matters more, and you’ll be paid for your parking offer anyways!

  1. What does a blue colour symbol mean on the app’s map?

    It shows a parking offer made by another user. You can tap any such offer to check full information, such as location, time when the place will be available, type of parking (e.g. pay & display, free of charge, for holders of resident’s permits etc.). And if you wish, confirm your acceptance by following simple instructions in the app.

  1. What does a green colour symbol mean on the app’s map?

    It shows a request for parking made by another user. You can tap any such request to check full information, such as location, time when another user arrives. And if you wish, confirm your acceptance by following simple instructions in the app.

  1. What does an orange colour symbol mean on the app’s map?

    In your smartphone, your own parking offers & requests will appear on the app’s interactive map in orange colour to help you distinguish them from any others. For other users they will be visible in green or blue colour as usual.

What if

  1. What happens if there are no spaces available?

    Parklook is a community-based information-sharing app, so it requires users to inform other users when a space will be available. It’s possible that at a given time or in a given location there are no available spaces. It’s highly recommended to try again and wait for the app to find matches. We will prompt other users in nearby locations, via push notification, that people are looking for spaces - this will generate more spaces as people wish to contribute to the information sharing platform and receive our payouts.

  1. What happens if you can’t find the other user at the parking spot?

    The app will inform you of the precise location of the other user and provide details of the leaving vehicle. If there is a failure to make visual contact, you are able to call the other via the app.

    Rest assured that we’ll never disclose your mobile number to the other user and will never show you the other user’s number. All in-app calls are made via our internal call forwarding system which needs you real number only for the right connection and putting you through.   1. What if another user is late?

    We only connect you with another driver, but we cannot control anyone’s behaviour. If the other user is late, he/she may cancel the offer or booking or suggest you wait longer. You’ll receive immediate notification via our app of any changes made by the other user and can decide accordingly.

    If your offer is accepted by another user but such user is late or cancels the booking, you’ll be paid for your parking offer anyways (provided you haven’t cancelled it or left the parking spot earlier than your selected departure time).

  1. What to do if you need any help?

    You can always ask our customer support for any help.

Pre-booking vs. instant parking

  1. How a pre-booking function works?

    Here’s how: open the app and tap Parking. Select the time, day, and address of your destination. Your request becomes visible to other users and you’ll be notified as options come in. Simply choose the best spot for you. Then head to your spot at the agreed time. Easy as that.

    And don’t forget to return the favour and tap Leaving so other users know there’s a spot opening up. You can also do this minutes, hours, or days in advance

    Here’s how: open the app and tap Leaving. Select the time, day, address where you’re parked, and the type of parking space. Your spot becomes visible to other users and you’ll be notified when someone pre-books it. Simply wait for the other user at the agreed time and let them take your place when you leave. You’ll earn £2.00 just for doing so. That’s it. Piece of cake, right? Read how we make payments here .

  1. Why pre-book or offer parking in advance if instant search is available?

    When in a rush, you can always search for street parking instantly as you go but, if you have time, we recommend planning in advance. Doing so will increase your chances of finding an ideally convenient spot. Not to mention the peace of mind of knowing your parking’s sorted ahead of time.

    And if you offer a parking spot far in advance of your departure, you give others much more opportunity to book it and avoid late arrivals. By that, you increase your chances of getting paid as well!

Benefits, money, payments

  1. What’s the benefit of sharing street parking with others?

    Everyone appreciates any help and so you do when it comes to your needs. This is what makes our life easier. Day after day, by the people for the people.

    We share these values too. And that’s why we’ll pay you £2.00 if someone confirms your spot and then takes it from you. That’s £2.00 just for being helpful! Read how we make payments here.

  1. Does it cost you anything to download or use the app?

    No, you don’t have to pay either for download or the use of our app at the moment. Why? Because we want to demonstrate to you the value first. And when we start charging, rest assured - you’ll know in advance and it will be reasonable for the time saving & convenience you get.

  1. Do you have to pay for your parking?

    Yes. At the moment, we don’t collect payments for your parking time (meter), any parking permit(s) or parking fines (tickets). You must pay for any of the above in the usual manner via any alternative service provider you prefer.

  1. How much do we pay?

    At the moment, we suggest £2.00 for every parking exchange. Read our Payouts T&Cs here to find out more.

  1. How payouts are made?

    As our primary payment method, we make payouts via PayPal (UK) to your personal PayPal account. Therefore, you need to have or set up a PayPal account to receive any payments from us. You can read how to & set up your PayPal account at (https://www.paypal.com) As a back-up payment solution, we reserve the right to make payouts in Tesco gift cards (https://www.tesco.com) which we will send electronically to your email address provided during registration of your account with our app. Read our Payouts T&Cs here to find out more.

  1. When we don’t pay?

    We don’t pay for any fraud, fake or framed-up parking exchanges or transactions made via our app. We don’t pay if you (i) cancel your parking offer after posting to our app or (ii) leave the parking spot before the departure time you’ve selected while making the offer or (iii) don’t make the parking spot available when the other user arrives. We don’t pay for a parking exchange if you make the spot available to anyone else other than the user who’ve booked it from you via our app. We don’t pay if you turn off location tracking on your mobile device whilst using our app.

  1. Do we offer loyalty awards?

    Of course! Every week we’ll select at our discretion the most active users who create regular parking offers and make regular parking exchanges with others via our app. The winners will receive a sum of £10 - £50 (at our choice) as our appreciation award in addition to any other payments to which they’ll be entitled.
